Round Hill General Improvement District

Newsletter

November 25, 2008

There were errors on the ballots of the November 4 elections that rendered the votes for RHGID Board of Trustees’ candidates invalid. Therefore, a new election must take place and those residents that voted on November 4 will be asked to recast their ballots. There will be four (4) candidates on the new ballots and those voters that participated in the November 4 election may vote for up to three (3) of those candidates. The District is working closely with Douglas County to coordinate the new election in a timely manner to minimize the impacts to the District. You will be hearing more on this subject in the days ahead. Please take the time to vote when the time comes. This is your District and your vote counts.

The District’s web site, www.rhgid.org, has been updated. We are very happy with the new site; designed and built by Hanna Bernard of Highmark Designs. Log-in and check out the new and improved website. We think you’ll agree that Hanna did a fantastic job. Any feedback or suggestions you might have to make the site even better are always welcome.

The existing Round Hill entrance sign is in need of significant repair. Rather than spending money on repairing the existing sign, it seemed appropriate to consider replacing the existing sign with a new design. RHGID Trustees surveyed residents of the District to choose a new design. The process of installing a new sign includes TRPA permitting which will take place this winter to facilitate installation during the next construction season in the Spring.

During the Holidays, the District offices will be closed on the following days.

  • November 27
  • November 28
  • December 25
  • January 1

May your Holiday season this year be your best one ever!

Grant Funds have now been received and several weeks of fuel reduction work will be conducted this fall, weather permitting. If you have work to be done, please contact your Block Captain. There are about 40 properties on the work list, and they will be completed in the order the request was received.

To those residents that I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, my door is always open. Please feel free to stop by at any time and say hello. I can be reached at the District office at 588-2571.
